NISER Bhubaneswar, India

After a prolonged struggle, On August 28th 2006, The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, announced the setting up of NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (NISER) at Bhubaneswar. He said that this institute will be at par with the IISERs and when completed will be like today's TIFR and IISc. This blog is a watchdog to make sure that the above indeed happens.

IISER Mohali faculty advertisement has appeared

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE EDUCATION & RESEARCH (IISER)

MGSIPA Complex, Sector 26, Chandigarh-160019, India

Applications are invited from eligible candidates with excellent track record for faculty positions at vaious levels in all areas of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. IISER Mohali is for extremely motivated scientists with a high-profile research agenda and a flair for teaching (especially at the undergraduate level). Minimum requirement of qualifications and/or experience cen be relaxed in case of exceptionalyy outstanding candidates.

• Lecturer (on contract) (Pay : Rs.10000-15000/-), Ph.D. with a good academic record.
• Assistan Professor (Pay : Rs.12000-18300/-), Ph.D. with a minimum of three years of post-doctoral or equivalent experience
• Assosciate Professor (Pay : Rs.16400-20000/-), Ph.D. with minimum of 8 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of an assistant professor
• Professor (Pay : Rs.18400-22400), Ph.D. with a minimum of 10 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of an assistant/associate professor.

Applications in plain paper giving details of date of birth, qualification, list of publications and names of at least 3 referees should be sent to the Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, MGSIPA Complex, Sector-26, Chandigarh-160019, preferably by September 15,2007 .
